Mum-of-two Hannah has a condition called trichotillomania – and has been pulling her hair out at the roots for 19 years
A BALD single mum who hasn’t been on a date in six years has begged the Body Fixers for help hiding her compulsive hair pulling condition.
Hannah, 28, suffers from trichotillomania, and has been pulling her hair out at the roots since she was nine years old.
Hannah wears a wig on a daily basis – but they aren’t very good quality
Appearing on the Channel 4 show the mum-of-two, from Kent, said: “I remember the first time I became aware of it.
“Britney Spears was number 1 and she was playing on the radio when my mum came in and screamed at the reality of what I was doing: ‘Oh my gosh, what are you doing to yourself?’
“Over the years, it’s become so bad that the damage is permanent.
“My eyebrows is the other thing that’s mainly affected. This is thick make-up. It is difficult.
“It does stop me being able to go certain places and do things.
“The thought of getting in a relationship and having to admit to someone that this is what I have just horrifies me. So I’ve steered well clear of that.
“I haven’t been on a proper date for about six years.”

“I was stressed, I was going through a difficult time at school,” Hannah added, of the time the hair pulling started.
“My mum took me to the doctor straight away. They sent me for cognitive behavioural therapy. Nothing has worked.
“I used to try to cover the bald patches with lots of different things so people wouldn’t notice.
“I tried shoe polish and then would hair dry it onto the bald patches to cover.”
Now that she’s completely bald, Hannah wears a wig on a daily basis – but they aren’t very good quality.
She said: “My kids have been great about my hair pulling and the way as a family we deal with it is through humour.
“But believe me, I do not want to be bald any more than Wayne Rooney does.
“I’ve got a big collection of wigs, the problem is they’re really bad quality and it can be quite embarrassing.
“If the wind blows too strong, my wig will blow off and I can find myself running down the street trying to catch my wigs.
“I’m sick to death of putting these crap wigs on my head.
“I just really want to have a hairstyle that fits me as a mum, as a friend, as an everything all in one. So I can feel and be me again.”
The Fixers gave Hannah a brand new wig and a super-glam makeover
Hannah looked gorgeous with her new bespoke wig and styling
Hairdresser Daniel crafted Hannah a new bespoke wig, carefully cutting it and styling it. While make-up artist Alex showed her how to draw on perfect brows.
Daniel said: “Hannah’s been so brave opening up about her condition and how it affects her, so I was determined to give her a style that makes her look and feel incredible.”
When the finished look was unveiled, an astonished Hannah said: “I really love it, thank you so much.
“I just feel like this is what I’m meant to be. I feel so confident, I feel completely transformed. I’m definitely ready to go out and show the world the new me. Thank you.”
Body Fixers previously featured a bleach addict who dyed her hair THREE TIMES a day, and begged for help fixing her frazzled locks.
While this lad, who hides his bald patch with a bandana, also pleaded for help – because he was too embarrassed to have sex.
